A total of 1540 scholarships are available for GKS bachelor, master’s, doctorate, and research programs for the upcoming batch. The embassy track and the university track are of two different types. 749 are available through the embassy and the remaining 791 are from the universities.

Here are some key highlights of the GKS Scholarship:

? Fully Funded Education:
✅ It fully covers tuition fees
✅ A settlement allowance amounting to 200,000 KRW.
✅ Living allowance up to 900,000 KRW.
✅ Medical insurance of 20,000 KRW a month.
✈️ Round-Trip Airfare: GKS provides a round-trip flight ticket to ease your journey
✅ Applicants who have completed TOPIK 5 or 6 can skip the Korean language course
❌ Applicants and parents must not be the citizen of South Korea
Period of scholarship and eligibility:
Bachelor’s – The duration is 5 years including one year of Korean language classes and 4-5 years of degree program.
- All applicants must hold citizenship of NIIED-designated countries
- Applicants who have associate degrees can only apply for the bachelor’s program
- The score percentile should be 80% or above on a 100-point scale or be ranked within the top 20% within one’s class
- Applicants must be under 25 years of age
Master’s – The duration is 3 years. This includes 1 year of Korean language classes and 2 years of degree coursework
- All applicants must hold citizenship of NIIED-designated countries
- Requires a bachelor’s degree or education similar to or higher than a UG degree
- The score percentile should be 80% or above on a 100-point scale or be ranked within the top 20% within one’s class
- Applicants must be under 40 years of age
Doctoral – Takes 4 years. It comprises 1 year of Korean language study followed by 3 years of Ph.D. study.
- All applicants must hold citizenship of NIIED-designated countries
- Requires a master’s degree or education equivalent or higher than a UG degree
- The score percentile should be 80% or above on a 100-point scale or be ranked within the top 20% within one’s class
- Applicants must be under 40 years of age
Research – It is a half or 1 year scholarship program
- All applicants must hold citizenship of NIIED-designated countries
- Requires a doctoral degree or an equivalent
- The score percentile should be 80% or above on a 100-point scale or be ranked within the top 20% within one’s class
- Applicants must be under 40 years of age
